Every Little Free Library has a story. And behind every one is a person who decided to make their community a little better.

The Stewards is an original, character-driven documentary series that travels from community to community, introducing us to the extraordinary people behind these little libraries. Each episode follows a different steward, exploring who they are, what inspired them to create their library, and the unexpected ways their simple act of generosity has touched the lives of those around them. From quiet suburban streets to bustling urban neighborhoods to small towns halfway around the world, we discover that these tiny libraries are about something much bigger than books.

Through intimate, authentic storytelling, we meet not only the stewards themselves but also the neighbors, families, and strangers whose lives intersect around their libraries. Some stories will be funny, others deeply moving, surprising, or inspiring. Each reveals how a small gesture can spark meaningful connections, strengthen communities, and create joy in unexpected places.

Designed as an ongoing short-form documentary series, The Stewards offers an opportunity to tell an ever-expanding collection of human stories from communities around the world, celebrating the people who make the Little Free Library movement possible.

At its heart, Little Free Library isn't just a global network of little libraries. It's a global network of people who care about other people. The Stewards brings those people and their stories to life.
